Due to the global pandemic many people involuntarily changed the way of living, reducing cost of living, losing jobs, losing home and many trying to survive.
Some governments have offered rescue packages and saved jobs and gave business time to execute business continuity plans and reassess the feasibility of the operations or demand.
The silver lining of this pandemic has built the community closer (solidarity) and enabled us to think creatively to rise to the challenge.
For those who are looking for work, despite their excellent work history, continued learning and upskilling, there are limited opportunities to continue devoting their talent financially.
With many job seekers devoted their time to:
- Offer care to families while they are dealing with huge financial, career and family challenges.
- Educate vulnerable children especially during the time of remote learning mode.
- Offer logistics/warehousing/operation support to the community care group so that they can find people a shelter to stay safe, food to survive and resources to continue living
- Offer technology knowledge/technical skills to enable new age citizens to bank, shop safely in their own home.
There are many more stories on how volunteer provide most critically needed help in their lifetime.
GDP might not be the most suitable measure when we value people providing services but not being officially paid, however it supports the nation what is critically needed to keep delivering products and services needed most. What do you think about the future of life?
To offer our best talent to enable the society to live harmoniously, contribute/share/exchange to live a fulfilling life. WE experienced the sharing economy, Airbnb, UBER, FoodDelivery, CarShare etc. which are good platforms to utilise your assets/skills. It is also a way to utilise our resources so that we don't need to each OWN a tool to do what we need.
